"The pay-me girl's had enough of the bleeps"

    London. There was...

...the most amazing balcony view over the Thames...

    ...mojitos off Oxford Street...

...daiquaris and chocolate fondue in small cocktail bar i Soho...

...M&S's take-away wine-glasses with a plastic lid that never fail to crack me up...

...long, lazy mornings in the local book store...

    ...Carluccio's superior coffee...

...and there was also Starbucks wifi, tapas and sangria in West India Quays, watching The Shard opening light show with all our neighbours, CERN press thingie on BBC, the noisy party boat going up and down the Thames outside our window every night booming out Whitney, Katy Perry and, eh, James Brown's I Feel Good, Wimbledon final at The Parlour, and my bedroom/kitchen that I spent ten minutes giggling over every night.

You can't say London welcomed us with a lot of sun this time but it's really our own fault for not checking that it was Wimbledon this week.
